Bristol Cars showroom is located on the fashionable address of Kensington High Street in London. It bodes well for a car brand that compares itself with Bentley, Bugatti Veyron and Rolls-Royce.
In reality it is a race car showroom with warped front door to scrape the floor with a chilling sound. A pair of drooping red velvet ropes trying desperately to give the VIP feel.
Panel on the walls have lost the varnish and the sun-bleached Union Jack flags in the ceiling brighten the mood hardly.
Manager's office is a joke. His well-worn desk fills the room so that the visitor's chair, which squeaks when you sit down, pushed out of the door opening. Why it is a fez on the bookshelf, we understand the latter. The whole thing is like something out of a Monty Python sketch.
But instead of John Cleese in rigid extruded's rock and string glance, we are met by the owner and CEO Toby Silverton. He is in his 50s and casually dressed in rolled up shirtsleeves.
We have time, however, hardly begin until he had to excuse himself to take a call on his cell phone - a customer in Saudi Arabia. |
